Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 11/07/2012

Number: 2

really cold at nite, but no frost yet, so the cardinal vines and the cuphea are still tempting the rufus and the ruby (maybe 3 hummers) to stick around. I refresh with warm feeders early in the mornin. I'm amazed how different the rufus sounds than the ruby. It really fussed at me last night. It was almost dark! They are really vocal and the best way to describe their voice is this...take a steel pipe and bang on a long tightly stretched out metal cable...thats it, kinda. I can definitely tell the difference in their voices. This pic is from yesterday 11/06/2012
