Hummingbird Sighting (Adult Male)
Sightings report image

Date: 11/09/2012

Number: 7

The garden was crazy today. For much of last week female Anna's ruled the roost but today the males came back, fighting like mad. They buzzed not only each other but me as well (while I refilled the feeders) and they teased neighbor's cat as she lay in wait for fat little house sparrows.

Never mind that we had our coldest day of the year today (the temp dropped to 33.3°F). It's supposed to freeze tonight but I'll bet they'll be just as feisty tomorrow morning as they were today. As long as their nectar doesn't freeze up. And It will be up to me to make sure it doesn't.
