An autumn day: last night, the temperature dropped to 32°F. By dawn, when it had risen to 33.3°F, the male Anna's hummingbirds were very active at the feeders––and fighting each other. This afternoon the temperature has risen into the mid-forties and the female Anna's are back (I think they never go far, just to the tidal marsh bottom of our hill). They're feeding very actively.
