I hosted an adult male ruby-throated hummer for three weeks. Unfortunately, it appears he did not survive the second night of very cold weather(first night 20 degrees, next day 32 and windy, second night upper teens). I had the feeder filled with warm nectar outside at first light again this morning, but the hummer never showed up. His fate was sealed when he decided to stay here and not migrate south, but it's definitely sad now that the day has arrived.
