Tulips PLANTED
Sightings report image

Date: 11/14/2012

Number: 1

It was the perfect day for our 2nd graders to plant their tulip bulbs. Our bed was tilled the day before and a light rain fell during the night. The temperature was in the low 60 degrees F.It was a bright and sunny day. Each student dug a hole 7" deep, gently placed their bulb in the ground then said,"Good night little bulb,"and then they covered their bulb with soil. Students planted 100 bulbs then the last class carried rocks to make a border around the bed. It rained the following day, which was perfect for our bulbs. We have made predictions of when we think our bulbs will begin peeking up through the ground. The predictions ranged from 2 weeks to Spring when we begin see the daffodils here in our city.
