Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/29/2012

Number: 1

The Fourth Grade is planting our school's official first Tulip Test Garden! (The other grades will also plant Red Emperor tulips). Ms. Cereste's class planted on 11/29 and Mr. Mongon's and Mrs. Smolenski's are planting today 11/30. The Garden Committee dug a new bed especially to fit the criteria for planting. The students measured about 16 feet from the school building and noted it was a sunny location. Some of the bulbs will be close to a metal fence and the students predicted this would make the ground colder. Before planting, students measured their bulbs circumference and made predictions on how various bulb conditions (size, tunic on or off, cut bulb) might affect growth. They are very excited to participate in Journey North!
