We are third graders at Heritage Elementary and we planted 10 Red Emperor bulbs on 11/26/12. Our science teacher told the PTA about the program and they donated 4 or 5 bags of bulbs. So the bulbs we used were Red Emperor but we didn't order them through your website, just in case that makes a difference. We used tools from our greenhouse and planted in a raised bed near the playground, which gets mostly sun. We put down plastic so that weeds do not grow. The soil in humus and has dead plants and worms from our compost bin mixed in to make the soil better. We made a grid to make sure we planted them 4 inches apart and so everyone would know where they planted. We followed the directions of planting them 7in. deep with the tip up. We handled our bulbs carefully. We could only get some of the bulbs planted because we only have 45 minutes with Mrs. Austin. We are planning on planting the rest of the bulbs 12/3/12.
