Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 11/23/2012

Number: 4

I was visiting Egmont Key off of Florida's sunny gulf coast the day after Thanksgiving and was delighted to see a quartet of feisty male monarchs chasing one another around a patch of Spanish needles and blue snakeweed (both excellent butterfly attractants). This is the best photo I got of the three I managed to take. Really enjoying following the monarchs as they 'Journey South' through Florida this time of year!
