Thought I was seeing and reporting a ruby throat, but I got up early this morning and had my binoculars ready. Turns out that the bird is a female rufous hummer! She would breeze in about every 2 minutes, take a sip and then go. Then about every 40 minutes she would stop and perch and drink a long time which gave a good view. She only has a few darker feathers on her forget but I definitely saw that she had tawny color feathers on the sides of her breast. Her tail had just a little white tip.vwhen she perched her wing feathers were almost as long as her tail. Teresa.lavenue@cox.net
