We saw our ruby throated hummingbird about 7:20 am this morning at our feeder. It was about 30 degrees outside. The sugar water was frozen so we replaced it with fresh non-frozen sugar water. The hummer went back and forth between sitting on the fence below the feeder and going up to the feeder for quite a while. We haven't seen the hummer this afternoon at all. Could he/she possibly have started on it's migration south on December 30th?
