Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 01/04/2013

Number: 1

Yesterday, I noticed a number of birds, perhaps 15-20 flying around my two old Basswood trees. A number of them lighted, and I was surprised to notice that they were robins, who I usually expect not to see until April or May. A flock of starlings was also there at the same time, and since I am not fond of them, I clapped loudly, and they flew away, after having lighted in the same trees. The robins, however, were unperturbed, and remained.

Today, I made a nearly identical observation at about the same time of day, perhaps 3:00PM. This struck me as so unusual that I decided to see what I could learn about Robin migration, thinking perhaps that my expectations were incorrect. It is when I was searching the internet that I came upon your site.
