Bald Eagle

Hi,
My name is Lee and I spotted my first "up close" bald eagle sighting today 1/12/13, at 1230pm EST at Diamond Hill reservior, in Cumberland, RI. I dont think it wise to give the exact location as I wish the bird his peace and safety. For reporting purposes, Rhode Island has at this time, that I know of only one listed mating pair of bald eagles located at the Scituate reservior. I have viewed this nest and it was amazing to see the babies hopping up and down on the edge of the nest practicing for flight. I have also viewed the mom or dad in a pine tree close by keeping watch. Up until today, I had not seen this majestic creature in flight. I believe there are a few more nests in Rhode Island yet to be discovered as evidenced by todays sighting. I wish I had a telephoto lens on my camera as the pictures I took are bad at best but clearly show the size of what i believe to be a female. I am going back tomorrow and again to search for the nest. Until next time....

Best regards,

Lee
