We were gone all of December, returned on the 30th. Two days later spotted a robin at the bird feeder; what a surprise. Increasing numbers over the two weeks since then. Eleven this morning; I keep pans of water out also, and pour boiling water over frozen birdbath and pans these early very cold mornings (make sure water is only warm, swirl around with finger, before you leave it). The birds are thirst in our extended drought conditions!!
