Our Second Grade GATE(Gifted and Talented Education) students planted 56 pre-chilled Red Emperor tulip bulbs today. We planted all day as we have four groups of Second Grade students. This was our first day to plant after Christmas break. GATE students are in a pull-out program and only come to the GATE Center once a week. We have had extremely wet weather lately (very different than normal!). It was drizzling this morning still and the temperature seemed to get colder throughout the day but we were determined to plant today! Everyone was excited and had a great time! We can hardly wait to see them emerge and bloom! We are have a partner class with a class in Saskatchewan, Canada. We are going to skype with them next Tuesday:)
