Right at dawn yesterday I saw a pair of hummingbirds darting and chasing one another around a large pine in my backyard. The were silhouetted against the paler sky, so couldn't identify them. That was the morning after our coldest night of the years so far and the temperature sat at 32.6 degrees. I do not put out feeders and had only 3-2 scrawny salvia blooms still out. Only other blooms available are bougainvillia. Tropical milkweed were all trimmed back one week ago.
