Tulips PLANTED

Date: 01/10/2013

Number: 1

Ms. Sires' third grade class, 3C, planted 24 tulips bulbs. It was a cloudy and cool day with a temperature of 66 degrees. The first thing we did was push and twist a metal soil parter to make holes and then we put bone meal in them. Then we placed the tulip bulbs and covered them up with soil. We filled our watering cans and gave them all a good drink. We noticed our planter had many ants crawling around in it. Since we have extra bulbs we plan to plant them in crazy experimental ways. We noticed the bulbs we dug up from last year had tulip babies attached to them! We peeled one of the old dried up ones to see what was inside. All we found was a little brown nugget.
