Tulips EMERGED
Sightings report image

Date: 01/31/2013

Number: 1

Today Ms. Wiggins' third grade class, 3B observed that 29 tulips had emerged! We planted 26 and we got 29! We are wondering if some are leaves or tulips that have split. They are green with red edges and tips. They look like inverted 'v's' or 'y's' and are thin. The leaves also felt smooth and fuzzy and cool to the touch. The leaves were also sturdy, strong and curled. The tallest was 13 1/2 cm and the shortest was 1 cm. We wonder about the size difference. We also wonder why they have layers, some had three, and why there is red on the edge of them. We also wonder what color the blooms will be.
