Bald Eagle
Sightings report image

Date: 02/11/2013

Number: 1

We have bald eagles year-round at Pine Lake State Park. There is one pair that has nested here the past couple years. I've attached a picture of an immature eagle that has been around most of the winter. The eagles feed on deer carcasses as well as fish. They often perch in trees along the Iowa River. There are springs in the lake as well which provide a year-round source of food.
