The other day I had snipped back some of my milkweed before the freeze here in NE FL ... was over 3 ft. tall and very leggy and decided to root the cuttings in some water ... set the container on my back porch and forgot it ... until this morning ... I walked out and saw all this frass (caterpillar poop) scattered all over the floor and the surface of my bakers rack ... and then I saw this amazing thing ... a huge monarch caterpillar! ... Guess butterfly season has begun! ... I now have him housed in a container and guessing in the next 10 days or so we will have a butterfly!
