Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 02/22/2013

Number: 1

About 10 minutes ago, we were sitting at the kitchen table finishing lunch, when this hummy zoomed up to its empty feeder hanging from a pecan tree branch just outside the kitchen door and zoomed back away. My sister promptly rushed to prepare a batch of hummy syrup. Just a minute ago the hummy returned to the empty feeder and then zoomed over the roof to the front porch to seek food there.

My sister is hurriedly cooling the first batch of hummy syrup to rush out to set up the feeders.

Oh my! How thrilling! They're early!
