Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/24/2013

Number: 1

Towards evening, one swallow was sighted in nesting area on north side of house. Within minutes a second swallow was sighted. Both slept overnight in separate old nests. It's interesting to note, that these two nests are always the favored nests at our home; they are in covered porch area, away from wind. These particular swallows were seen early the next morning, not leaving their nests for quite some time. They did not return all day (it was extremely windy and stormy) and did not sleep in nests that night, but did return next day and are now sleeping again in same nests. No other sightings on third day. Maybe tomorrow!
