Tulips BLOOMED
Sightings report image

Date: 02/25/2013

Number: 1

We are amazed that two of our tulips are blooming already! We just planted them on January 15. We were surprised that the bloom is developing out of a short, stubby stem with leaves. The leaves are so wrapped around the bloom that it looks like the bloom is having trouble opening up fully. We predicted that there would be a longer stem before the bloom opened. We are wondering why the tulip has such a short stem and if the stem will now grow longer. Most of our other bulbs have emerged now too! We have over 60 bulbs planted:)
