Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 03/01/2013

Number: 1

One monarch was released. The chrysalis had been outside for approximately three weeks. I brought it in the day before to protect it from our grass cutting service people. She came out safely the next morning and happily flew away. The milkweed plants have grown well in New Orleans and suburbs throughout this winter and are flowering now. We did not have a freeze here this year so most other plants are doing nicely.
