I was in my garden looking at my leafless milkweed plants when I noticed this chrysalis hanging from a bush nearby. I live in Metairie, Louisiana which is 20 miles outside of New Orleans. We have been having temperatures of around 45 degrees in the day and 35 degrees at night.
I brought some caterpillars inside but this one I left outside and so far it survive the cold weather.
I have 12 caterpillars left that are outside. May see more chrysalis.
Waiting on the butterflies to emerge!!!!
