I found this chrysalis outside today. It looks like a Monarch butterfly will emerge in a day or two. I have another one that is black and is hanging from the bottom of my second story bay window. This little one survived temperatures of 38 degrees at night and around 55 degrees in the day. We have mild damp winters in Metairie, Louisiana which is 20 miles west of New Orleans.
