We have a purple martin colony, all natural with homegrown gourds,that has been up for 5 years. This is the earliest we have spotted a martin. A scout was seen on 02/13/2013. With the wintry cold weather, I am hoping that they make it ok :( Last year we had 33 pair with babies :)
