Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/09/2013

Number: 1

I have been keeping my eyes and ears open for redwings around my village. Finally, I heard and saw a few singing outside of Dolgeville, Saturday afternoon. Today, I saw a few grackles in the village. The redwings seem to be most concentrated around farms outside of the village. I also saw flocks of blacbirds begin to move in the Mohawk Valley between Mohawk and Little Falls. Many farm fields are nearly free from snow. Dolgeville still has significant amounts of snow. The robins are still absent.
