Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 03/10/2013

Number: 5

60 degrees today - first truly warm day this season - bad storms south and east of Michigan - same day also had first sighting of several dozen migrating tundra swans, first killdeer and first red-winged blackbirds (song not sighting) - across Lake Huron from us near The Pinery Park in Ontario is a traditional stopover place for the tundra swans that posts daily sightings of the tundra swans. According to their post, the first tundra swans arrived there the day before the robins got here and were spotted here as the day after they began arriving in Ontario. The swans cross Lake Huron and come across the thumb area of Michigan where I live as they head north to the Arctic. Everything seemed to be on the move perhaps because of our excellent weather and perhaps the storm activity south of us. What a welcome sight (and sound) to have them all back.
