Cold(34*)-windy(20-30mph)-6-8" snow-cloudy! We are all tired of the winter in eastern Nebraska! There seems to be no signs of spring here. I did see a grackle on the 8th.Birds-sparrows,nuthatches,cardinals,juncos,red-bellies,downeys,chic-a-dees,robins,goldfinches,hairys,h.finches,jays,and the occasional coopers hawk looking for lunch. Grew birdhouse gourds last year,now have 4 birdhouses to put up.I am looking forward to the hummers return. It will about 6 weeks from now.Last year many of my plants survived the mild winter,I don't think I'll have such luck this year.I am putting a new garden in this year,a seed garden for the birds.- b.e.susans, coneflower, l.bluestem ,muhly grass etc. and maybe a beauty berry or aronia. Got a monoscope ,easier than carrying binoculars.Have included pic of hummer sitting on wind chime from last year. Good birding and gardening :)!
