Robin (First SEEN)

Date: 03/11/2013

Number: 1

Warming temps and heavy snow cover produced thick fog on Monday, in our area. Groping my way thru gray murk to shop in nearby Coopersville; I spotted a robin stalking a worm along side the road. Evidently grounded by the weather, the bird sat intently focused for a meal to pop up. The next morning, March 12, my husband and I watched as another robin prowled the high spots of our front yard. Later, I listened to the robin scolding in the backyard ash tree as bluebirds sang and killdeers called. Today, winter has returned and bird activity has dropped back to the faithful woodpeckers, juncos, chickadees, song sparrows that have relied on the feeders.
