Two to three inches of snow are expected later today. I decided to take an early morning walk around my block before it fell. Chee-chee-chee-chee, I know that sound! Where is he? There, in front of me in a miniature crab apple tree. He flew away as I approached. I believe he was eating some of the remaining old fruit.

My location is near the mouth of the Fox River where it empties into Lake Winnebago in the NE side of Oshkosh. The time of the observation was 7:30am CDT. Overcast conditions, light winds from the east and a temperature of 28 degrees F were noted. Most of the ground has at least 6 inches of snow cover.

Nice to see a sign of Spring after the long winter we have experienced.
