Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/18/2013

Number: 1

Came home from Del Rio to Eagle Pass this afternoon around 4 p.m. to find a scarcely faded male monarch flying over the house and headed NE. The temperature was 96dF! Hottest day of the year so far! Black brush, huizache, lantana, bladderpod, oenothera speciosa, all in bloom. Wall to wall across all the chaparral as far as the eye can see. Don't know how much milkweed is up in the pastures; will check soon.
