Our house is 50yds. off of the Juniata River on a hill about 80' above the water surface. I was looking out the window and a mature bald eagle flew upstream (South-westerly direction) just parallel to the river's edge at eye level. I could see it for approx. 3/4mi. We live 3mi. southwest of Lewistown on Route 103. We are just downstream of the Pa.Fish Commission access area. This is our first eagle sighting. About 12 yrs. ago we had the good fortune of having an Osprey consume a 10" bass while perched in one of our large oak trees along the river. It stayed for 40min. casually dining while watching boats go by.
