Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 03/17/2013

Number: 1

I have had an adult male Ruby-throated hummingbird (RTH) that has over-wintered locally and uses my feeders. Today I saw a brief chase going on at the backyard east feeder. Both appeared to be adult male RTHs. I also saw another adult male at the front feeder just minutes before who sat and drank for about 5 minutes. I don't believe this lone hummer was one of the hummers at the east feeder shortly afterwards because he seemed to have his fill before flying in a south direction. So that would mean I actually saw 3 adult male RTHs within about 5-10 minutes of each other.
