I saw my first migrating Rufous Hummingbird this morning. I went outside to check my plants and he was at one of the patio feeders. He surprised me by coming close and landing on a small tree branch about 3 feet away from my face. I stayed still and chatted with him and wished him "Happy First Day of Spring!" When I moved to go inside, he flew away.
