Tulips in full sun, bark mulch have visibly emerged (so did last year's bulbs only they look leafier). Tulips in part shade with hay mulch have emerged but still working their way up through the hay. (Last years bulbs in this location were eaten by voles, this year we planted them in an "envelope" of hex wire which seems to have saved them.)
