One sure sign of spring is the return of the migrating goldfinch. Their colour is now a light taupe to a soft yellow, which will get brighter day by day. There is a small flock of about 12 and another of about 6. It hasn't been the best week for them with the cold temperatures. I have had to top up the feeders each day with their virocious appetites! Come on warm weather... we are all waiting!
