We had 36 of our experimental 90 tulips emerge on 3/15/13. The tulip heights are between 1-4 cm tall. Our group planted also planted 10 extra tulips along a building to see if they would emerge earlier. In this group 4 of the tulips did emerge earlier by 1 week; 3/8/13 (these do not count in Journey North's experiment). We did this just to see if the building would warm the bulbs up faster; it did seem to have an effect on some of the tulips.
