It was just a little after noon when I walked out to my back patio, which overlooks the gardens. Like magic there was my first male Ruby-throat visiting one of my freshly filled feeders. He took a sip or two before darting off. I would imagine that he is staking out the best territory to be had in my neighborhood. The Autumn Sage is starting to bloom and that is one of their favorite flowers here. I also have 4 feeders out. There will be plenty more to eat once the rest of the garden begins to bloom.
