Monarch (OTHER Observations)
Sightings report image

Date: 03/30/2013

Number: 1

It was a warm and breezy day today….temps in the low 80’s

While doing yard work in the late morning I spotted this Monarch in the Prairie Verbeena next to our house
It was not flying strongly and rested frequently in the cedar tree just above the flowers
It would not let me get very close to it but it appeared to possibly be a female
The pictures were not conclusive

I had lots of milkweed within about 40-50 feet of it but it appeared to just want to nectar
It flew back and forth from the cedar tree to the flowers for about an hour or so before finally disappearing
