Strong south wind 20G30 mph remains. Also cloudy most of day - but not cold. Nectar flowers are recovering from recent cold front. Milkweed availability is never a problem here. A. asperula are everywhere.
At about 16:20 for 30-45 seconds in an area partially sheltered from wind, I saw one faded adult flying near ground. It ducked low once or twice, but didn't land. Basically it was moving north with the wind. It flew through a row of 15-20 ft tall Junipers and was out of sight when I got through.
