All Other Signs of Spring

Date: 04/10/2013

Number: 1

After having numerous thunder storms and high winds blow through our area today, we had hundreds and hundreds of juncos land here to take shelter for the night! I've never, ever in all my years of birding seen anything like it! We had flock after flock of juncos come pouring down out of the skies like rain! They seemed to be in a frenzy, frantically searching for food in the fur and pine trees, like they were starving! They filled tree after tree and soon settled down to roost for the night. What a lifetime experience this was!!!
