My tulips are doing very well. I don't usually plant tulips, we get a couple of 80 plus temps during early Spring, tulips bolt! Last year I planted tulips in small pond containers- Rubbermaid type. My tulips bloomed and were wonderful. When "Spent" I dug out bulbs and planted them in the soil, expecting them to become fertilizer. I bought more tulips this year and planted 7 hanging basket containers in Jamuary. They bloomed beautifully. I also had the tulips I'd planted in the ground started to grow and are blooming right now. I was shocked and thrilled. Tulips do grow in North Texas! Thank you for allowing me to report how well "Tulips Do!"
I have pictures- don't know how to send them to you.
