Our beautiful Emperor Tulips started blooming over our springbreak here in South Carolina. However on April 9 when we returned to our garden we noticed bloom from the two planting sites. Our tended pollinator garden had several tulips blooming, some spent and some still formed in buds. However, the half dozen tulip bulbs we planted near our Principal's office were brilliant. (Please see photo) We observed, inferred that the flawless tulips near our Principal's office received more protection, early morning sunlight and less cold from our February below freezing temperatures than our pollinator garden. We also predict we will be planting more tulips near our Principal's window next year!!!
