I was just pulling into my driveway at 1:40 pm when my first Monarch of the year flew across the yard in front of the car. After going into the house for a camera I went back outside to find a second Monarch had joined the first. One was a male. I was unable to get close enough to sex the second one. Both showed obvious signs of wear.
