For as long as I remember barn swallows have nested in our barn (I am 53) the last few years I dated their arrival to the barn,the date being April 14.This morning 4/14/13 I went to the barn @ 7:30 am expecting to see them,as I opened the door a pair of swallows flew by the door,briefly landed on the wires and took off again. I expect to see them later today plus other pairs that nest at the same spots yearly
