Number: 1

While sitting out on the patio facing the woods. Heard a loud flapping and a dark brownish black bird take off from the ground. Thought it was a hawk at first. Went into the woods to get a better look cause I was asked by my neighbor what type of bird it was. Listened to hear the woods, and I could hear flesh being ripped. I looked up in a pine tree about 30 yards from where the brief glimpse a large dark brownish black bird. I rough estimate it was 36 inches (3 subway sandwiches), 85 inch wing span when it took off with the black cap chickadee it had been eating. Before flying off it let out a high pitched twitter like call. It flew south west deeper into the woods with it's kill. Bright white head and tail. Yellow beak, and looked none to please with my trying to get close to it. Rough estimate about 90 feet was my closest before it took off deeper into the swampy wood. Pond roughly 400 feet beyond sighting point.
