My husband was spreading manure on our farm and when scooping up the first load he uncovered what seemed like a nest of earthworms. I had never seen that many in one place before. There must have been a couple hundred of them. I went to get my camera, but by the time I got back most of them had disappeared. I was able to scoop up a few for fishing later that day. I was surprised how cold they felt considering they were so close to the surface. I was also surprised how fast they got away.
