My tulips finally started blooming on Sunday. They are very small and I wasn't sure they would bloom at all. My daffodils stated breaking through the ground right before our last snowfall/ cold spell and the little unopened blooms just died, so I was thinking the tulips might do the same. These bulbs were planted 3 years ago and when they bloomed last year the plants were about 12 inches tall, with big colorful blooms. This year they are only about 6 inches tall, and the blooms are not opening up as much.This time last year the temperatures had been in the 80's for several weeks and 3 days ago we had a frost warning. I am sure the constantly changing weather is not having a good effect on my flowers.
