I saw loons on Kent Lake in Kensington Metro Park near Milford, Michigan. There were at least three that I was sure were loons because I could see the black and white markings and they were diving and emerging. This is a small lake that at one shore is within feet from Interstate-96. The photo is from a phone camera so I had to crop in a lot to get this grainy image, but it is a loon, no question
